Do you accept insurance?

Pelvic Strong PT is a small fee-for service clinic, which means that we do not contract with
insurance companies. Our main goal is to provide high quality service for our patients, and we treat each patient privately, one-on-one. However, based on your “out of network” benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company.
We are happy to provide you with a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company. Obtaining reimbursement for services is the sole responsibility of the patient.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

In the state of Florida direct-access for physical therapy allows you to seek physical therapy
services without a physician’s referral. However, if services require more than 30 days from
your initial evaluation, you need to have a physician’s referral in order to continue therapy.

What can I expect on my first visit?

During the initial evaluation we will do a thorough intake, discuss your concerns, current
difficulties, and your goal for treatment. After this, a comprehensive evaluation will be
performed. This will include a posture assessment, movement analysis, orthopaedic
assessment, external pelvic floor assessment, and internal assessment if appropriate to
determine tone, strength, and endurance of your pelvic floor muscles. Internal assessment will only be performed with verbal and written consent. If applicable, sports specific or running evaluation will be performed. Once the assessment has been completed, we will discuss findings and develop a treatment plan.

How much time should I allow for each visit?

The initial evaluation is one hour long, and may take longer if needed. Each follow up treatment session is scheduled for 50 minutes.
